Yellow Xanax is an anti-anxiety medicine in the benzodiazepine category. The same group includes Valium, Klonopin, and Ativan. Furthermore, Yellow Xanax or R039 is useful for anxiety disorders and panic attacks. It works by improving the effects of GABA receptors inside the brain. Although GABA inhibits the brain’s activity, excessive brain activity may lead to anxiety. 

Moreover, R039 contains 2 mg of Alprazolam, which is a strong strength. The FDA approved the R039 pill in 1981. However, consult with a doctor before using Yellow Xanax for anxiety.

Uses of Yellow Xanax (R039 pills)

The medicine is beneficial for the treatment of anxiety disorders and panic attacks. Furthermore, anxiety disorders may cause:

  • symptoms of restlessness
  • aches
  • apprehension
  • unrealistic worry
  • trembling
  • smothering sensation
  • shortness of breath
  • excessive sweating
  • intense fear
  • palpitations
  • cold clammy hands
  • flushing
  • insomnia
  • problems in concentrating

Furthermore, S 901 is also useful for anxiety associated with panic attacks. These panic attacks may occur occasionally or in certain situations. However, your doctor may prescribe higher doses of Xanax in these panic attacks. 

Possible side effects of Yellow Xanax

Besides the higher doses, lower doses of Xanax may also cause side effects. However, side effects at lower doses include fatigue, dizziness, headache.

Moreover, side effects might be mild initially but may become severe. Some of these reactions may require medical aid. So, tell your doctor if you undergo:

  • speech problems
  • changes in weight
  • shallow breathing
  • memory problems
  • impaired vision
  • skin rash
  • itching
  • constipation

Standard doses of Yellow Xanax

R039 is only available in one strength, 2 mg. Thus, your doctor may prescribe to take doses 1 or 2 times a day. However, start the treatment with the lowest possible strength of Alprazolam. 

Moreover, you can take R039 with food if you have nausea. Also, drink enough water to prevent constipation. Follow your doctor’s instructions to avoid adverse effects and addiction. As Yellow Xanax is potent benzo, addiction is possible even at lower doses. 

Is R039 safe during pregnancy

Just like other benzos, Xanax may cause fatal abnormalities to the infant. One should avoid using this drug during pregnancy. So, tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant.

Apart from this, R039 is not safe to consume while breastfeeding. It may exert in breast milk and can affect nursing infants. Therefore, nursing women should not take Yellow Xanax at all.
